bad idea to run non-matching rims?

#1

i have two kazera kz-m rims and two d-force ltw 5 rims.

http://philstireservice.com/pages/wheels/D-Force-15x7-wheel.htm

they’re both 15x7, perfect e30 fitment.

is it a terrible idea to track the kazeras in the front and d-force in the rear?

thanks!

(ps. sorry…just noticed i posted this in the wrong forum. can a mod move it to Suspension?)

Colin,

Other than appearance, there is no reason why you couldn’t mismatch the wheels. It’s pretty common for racers to mismatch wheels when tires wear out; I did at CMP… If offsets are different, it may affect your handling a bit and best to keep offset the same on each end of the car.

thanks richard!

i’m still fairly new at this stuff, so it’s really nice to get reassurance from folks with more experience.

all offsets are the same so i guess everything should be fine.

You will be fine. I had bottlecaps with rain tires on the front and Koenig’s with shaved RA-1’s on the back at CMP. Other than the handling being a little off, it was fine.

haha : ) nice!

my bottlecaps don’t even fit over my brakes anymore (running wilwood big brakes, not spec e30. http://www.moock.org/e30/brakes2/).

much obliged for the response.

put the kazeras on one side and d-force on the other then you won’t look mismatched.
