Data acquisition hookups

I recently picked up a used Traqmate system that I’m about to throw in, but am not sure where is the easiest/most reliable place to get the speed/tach signals from. Are you guys tapping into the wires behind the cluster or going to the C101 connector?

I get the tach signal from a wire run to the tach. Speed comes from the TM’s GPS.
